Blue Jays School History
Moore Magnet Elementary School was constructed from 1951-1952 on the site that was once Merricourt Farm owned by Mr. and Mrs. Hunter. The school was named for C.H. Moore, longtime superintendent of the Clarksville City Schools. The library was added in 1968 and the gym was added in 1970. In 1993 classrooms were added and the front entrance and office were reconstructed. Moore Elementary School was renamed Moore Magnet STEM Elementary School in 2004. In 2024, Moore Magnet was redesignated with the distinction of a STEAM-designated school by TDOE and TSIN, incorporating the arts into daily practice. The school has been served by the following principals: Mr. Doyal Branson, Mrs. Grace Cunningham, Dr. Frank Hodgson, Mrs. Lettie Kendall, Mrs. Jacquelyn Hudson, Mrs. Laura Black, Mrs. Kim Smith, Mrs. Ptosha Maclin, and Ms. Kelsea Cox.
